The Flying Buffoons is a wandering comedy, punctuated by
playlets in which burlesque meets strangeness. With nostalgia, it
recalls the time of the first fantastic silent movies inspired by Jules
Verne’s and Méliès's world.
The Story
At the dawn of the third millennium, after more than one-century
absence, “Smog” and “Ventillo”,
spatiotemporal travellers, come back on earth.
They discover then a planet from which dreams and imaginary world
seemed to have disappeared. Our both Flying Buffoons start looking for
the starry dreams that each of one of us keeps in the very depths of
his mind.
This story is a sweet invitation back to the forgotten travel of
childhood.
The Characters
[Smog] :
(Floor actor)
[Ventilo] :
(Actor, stiltwalker)
The equipments
[The speedows] :
It is our rocket. It is really good, it makes real rocket noise and
also music.
Sometimes, smoke gets out from its bottom, it stinks but it’s
really funny.
By night, the whole machine lights up all over the place,
it’s pretty and it creates mystery.
[The Flying Boiler] :
It is really heavy because it’s all made of iron. Well,
it’s heavy especially because I carry it on my back actually.
I wish I knew, I wouldn’t have done this way, but whatever!
The Flying Boiler is rusted over to make it more authentic, it twinkles
and its wings light up. It’s beautiful! Sometimes there is
fire burning inside. I love it.
